A Video Message

So, What Will You Learn?

1. How to Choose the Right Viscosity Oil

Viscosity is one of the most commonly misunderstood aspects of motor oil lubrication. Many people "think" they understand viscosity but have fallen victim to alot of misconceptions. Many others struggle with knowing just what viscosity will really work best for THEIR vehicle and THEIR driving conditions, and asking their mechanic is often futile at best or misleading at worst.

Never again be unsure about what viscosity to use. You will understand motor oil viscosity backwards and forwards.

2. When & Why to Choose Petroleum or Synthetic

There are those that preach that synthetic is ALWAYS best no matter what because it offers better lubricating, cooling and protective qualities. There are also those that believe petroleum oil is plenty good enough and that synthetics are simply a waste of money. Neither is correct.

I am a firm believer in matching the lube to the application. Synthetic oils ARE higher quality lubes and DO offer significantly enhanced lubricity, cooling and protective qualities (and I will explain - IN DETAIL - exactly how and why that is) ... BUT, synthetics are NOT the best option for every situation even though there ARE many people who could benefit from an upgrade in lubrication.

"The Motor Oil Bible" will make it abundantly clear to you whether synthetic lubricants will offer any significant value to YOUR application and YOUR situation. You will never again have to wonder if synthetic is REALLY better and if it's right for you.

3. How Oils Are Made & What Goes Into Them

When comparing motor oils and deciding upon drain intervals and such it's valuable to know how oils are put together - which will help you understand the differences between various oils (because of their differing basestocks, refining and blending processes, additive packages, etc. There is a considerable section of the book devoted to helping you fully understand the "making of a motor oil".

I don't get so technical that your eyes are going to glaze over, but I do get technical enough that you'll have a very solid understanding of the refining, manufacturing and blending processes.

4. What Do the Technical Specifications Mean

Once you've narrowed down the viscosity that you need and whether you need a petroleum or synthetic basestock oil, you're then left with the task of comparing the various oils that are available and meet your criteria. This can be a daunting task if you don't really understand what the data on the technical specification sheets mean.

Many oil companies publish the technical specifications for their oils online or are willing to send them to you via email, fax or in the mail. Some provide far more useful information than others, but most will at least give you something. However, all that data does you little good if you don't know which specifications are most important to YOUR situation. It also does you no good if you don't know what the specifications mean, how to read the numbers, whether a higher or lower value is better, etc.

I will detail for you the testing process used for each technical specification you are likely to see on an oil companies data sheet. I'll explain to you what the numbers mean, why they are useful, which ones apply more or less to certain driving conditions, etc. By the time you're done, you'll know all of the tests inside and out and will be able to explain them to anyone who wants to know. You're going to be an oil guru.

5. Frequently Asked Questions About Synthetic Oil

Let's face it, there is alot of information floating around the internet related to synthetic oils - some of it good, some of it not so good. I'm going to separate the fact from the fiction and explain WHY it can be considered fact or fiction. If you've ever considered moving to synthetic but had questions about the process, the potential issues you might run into, etc. you'll want to get a copy of this book.

6. There ARE Extended Drain Capable Oils & Filters

Again, these oils and filters are NOT for everyone. Not every vehicle is a good candidate for these products, nor is every individual going to be comfortable with extended oil drains or even have need for them. However, that being said ...

The fact is, hundreds of thousands (likely even millions) of motorists and companies have proven the capability and viability of SEVERELY extended oil drains, as have numerous laboratory and field study based investigations. Dozens of SAE technical papers have been written detailing the results of many of these studies. ALL of them make it abundantly clear that extended drains are quite possible and, if using the right lubes and filters, will NOT result in increased engine wear or any other detrimental result.

Only you can decide if this is something you are comfortable trying, but, oil analysis is the best friend of those who choose to utilize extended oil drains, and I'll be discussing oil analysis in the book as well. You certainly don't have to analyze the oil at every oil change, but, for the first couple of times that you choose to extend your oil drains (IF you do), an oil analysis is a very "black and white", concrete way of establishing if your oil and filter are good for continued use - so it's not a guessing game.

7. Everything You Need to Know about Air & Oil Filtration

Proper lubrication of your engine is COMPLETELY dependent upon good filtration. I don't care how good your oil is, if you don't keep it filtered well, it won't be long before it is worthless. So, it pays to know everything you can about filtration.

As with oil, many filter manufacturers provide data regarding their filters. Unfortunately, often the way that data is presented is VERY misleading and often VERY lacking in substance. For instance, many filter manufacturers will make statements such as, "Our premium line of oil filters are rated at 10 microns" or "Our filters will remove particles as small as 8 microns".

Neither of these statements mean ANYTHING at all. Filters are not "rated" for certain micron levels, they ARE tested for filtration efficiency related to certain micron sized particles. In other words, it can be said that a filter offers 97.3% efficiency at removing 15 micron particles on a single pass. But, saying that the filter will remove particles as small as 15 microns is meaningless, since no efficiency data has been supplied. Chicken wire can remove particles as small as 15 microns as well - it just won't be very efficient at it.

In this book you'll learn all about the differing test methods used in evaluating oil and air filters, how to spot propaganda vs. actually useful data. You'll learn what the primary characteristics are that you should be looking for in a good filter. You'll also learn about "bypass" oil filtration which has effectively been used for YEARS by millions of motorists, company fleets, military fleets and the like to extend oil drains nearly indefinitely - through the use of periodic filter changes and oil analysis to verify the viability of the used oil within the engine.

7. The Truth About Motorcycle Specific Oils

For years motorcycle manufacturers have charged HUGE premiums for OEM branded motor oils that have been, by and large, crappy oils. However, because motorcycle owners were afraid of voiding their warranty or messing up their bike, they've paid the hefty pricetag for these mediocre oils "just to be safe".

In this book I will explain, in great detail, just exactly how to determine the differences between various oils as they relate to motorcycle applications. We'll discuss API certification and how that relates to choosing a quality oil for your bike. And, I'll make the case, quite effectively, I might add, for throwing out just about every OEM brand motor oil you might currently own in favor of "real" oils that will offer significantly better protection and performance (and, no, I'm not going to tell you to go buy "Brand X" cause it's the best).

7. A Whole Bunch More

The book is 350+ pages. I could not possibly describe for you on this page ALL of the information you will glean from the book. However, I hope I've given you a pretty good idea here of what you'll learn.

So, How Does All This Info Actually Help You?

A fair question that deserves an honest answer. Depending upon your situation, how new or old your vehicles are, how you drive them and how long you want to keep them, the answer to that question may vary quite a bit. However, one thing is certain. In virtually ALL cases, significant money can be saved, over the life of just about ANY vehicle, by simply having a good working knowledge of lubricants and filters and putting that knowledge to good use for your vehicles.

And, to prove to you that knowing about lubes and filters is incredibly valuable to virtually anyone, I'd like to point out a few things about the TRUE and COMPLETE expenses of owning a vehicle and just how much of that money can be saved by properly lubricating that vehicle.

$7,098 Per Year in Vehicle Expenses?!

SERIOUSLY! You may find this hard to believe - I did too until I started crunching some numbers - but there are many motorists who are easily spending this much per year on each vehicle they own, and they don't even know it. Of course, not everyone is forking over this kind of cash, but let me run some numbers by you, and you can decide whether you are one who is.

That New Vehicle is Costing You a Mint

A vehicle these days can easily cost $30,000 to purchase new. However, many motorists these days will try to finance the vehicle for a full 5 years (60 months) to keep their payments down. At current auto loan interest rates, that could actually mean a total FINANCED value of $35,489.

The average vehicle protected with conventional lubes and filters will last about 150,000 miles, which, at 15,000 miles per year, is about 10 years of service. So, if the total financed cost of the vehicle is $35,489, over 10 years, that's a total of $3,549 per year, just to drive a vehicle (not accounting for fuel and repair costs).

And, if that person happens to have a longer commute to work and puts 30,000 miles per year on their vehicle, their annual costs could rise considerably as they would hit the 150,000 mile mark in only five years. Thus, that $35,489 expense is only spread over five years and amounts to an annual expense of as much as $7,098 per year (double the cost)!

Driving a more expensive luxury vehicle? Your costs could easily be even higher, considering the more pricey initial price tag AND, typically, more expensive repair work. Drive alot for work (maybe you're a realtor or the like), you'll go through cars like water, raising annual expenses even further. And, as I mentioned earlier, we haven't even accounted for maintenance, repair and fuel costs of owning that vehicle, or your insurance expenses. So, in truth, the cost of driving your vehicle is FAR more than $7,000 per year. Just the fuel alone, for a 30,000 mile driver could easily run another $3,500 annually.

Driving a vehicle is expensive, but, if you could reduce those costs by a considerable margin, just by applying the truths found in this book, would it be worth the cost of the book?

A Savings of $3,500 Per Year

Many motorists are able to extend vehicle life to 300,000 miles and beyond, while actually reducing fuel, lube and filter expenses. Now, if a vehicle owner can double the useful life of a vehicle without increasing lube, filter and fuel costs, he could effectively spread his $35,489 vehicle expense over twice as many years - cutting his costs in HALF.

For the 15,000 mile/year driver, that's a savings of over $1,775 per year. For the 30,000 mile driver, that's a whopping $3,549 savings every single year!

What could you do with an extra $3,500 this year?

How Is This Kind of Savings Possible?

Believe it or not, better lubrication and filtration can easily reduce costs by a WIDE margin. In fact, filtration alone does wonders - consider this:

In paper 881825 the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) indicates that a joint study was performed between AC Spark Plug and Detroit Diesel Corp. comparing oil filtration of varying efficiencies. The end result:

"Abrasive engine wear can be substantially reduced with an increase in filter single pass efficiency. Compared to a 40 micron filter, engine wear was reduced by 50 percent with 30 micron filtration. Likewise, wear was reduced by 70 percent with 15 micron filtration."

There are two critical pieces of information that can be gleaned from the above referenced paper. First, the fact that this test was conducted at all, suggests that there ARE various and wide ranging filtration efficiencies available on the market. Second, according to this study, moving from a 40 micron filter to a 15 micron filter reduced engine wear by 70%!

POP QUIZ: How much longer will your engine last if you can reduce engine wear by 70%? Hint: it's not 70%.

Let's break it down. If you cut engine wear in half (50%), it makes sense that engine life should be doubled. Thus, cutting engine wear by 70% (considerably more than 50%) could actually MORE than double your engine's useful lifespan.

But, How Much More for High Efficiency?

Believe it or not, the difference in price between a standard 30 or 40 micron paper media oil filter and a premium synthetic media 15 micron filter is only about $10 extra per filter (maybe even less). Now, on the surface, if you didn't know how much engine wear you could save by upgrading your filter, that might seem like a HUGE increase in cost. In reality, it's not much at all.

First, some of these higher efficiency oil filters are actually designed for longer change intervals (as much as 4 or 5 times as long - easily making up for the additional filter cost). But, even if they weren't, and you changed them every 3,000 - 6,000 miles like a cheaper conventional filter, over the life of your vehicle, the additional filter cost would amount to (at the absolute most) about $500 over 150,000 miles.

That's peanuts compared to the savings in engine wear and the increased engine longevity. We already calculated that you could easily save between $1,775 and $3,549 PER YEAR by doubling your vehicle's useful life.

So, going back to my example, if you drive 30,000 miles per year and decide to cough up the extra $10 at each filter change for higher efficiency, you'll purchase, at most, 10 oil filters (if changed every 3,000 miles) over the course of the year.

At a $10 premium per filter, that's $100 extra each year, compared against a savings of $3,549. That's a 3549% return on your filter upgrade investment.

When was the last time you had an investment turn that kind of profit over that short of a period of time?

And we're just talking a simple filter change here. We haven't even discussed the additional savings and convenience that could be had with a simple change to a different motor oil.

THAT is why this book is so valuable, and why NOT reading it could be a very costly decision. But, only you can make that decision.

Did you notice that I just gave you a $35,000 freebie in that last section? Even if you never got your hands on my book, a little research into enhanced filtration could, literally, save you $35,000 over the next 6-10 years (by doubling your vehicle's useful life), and it didn't cost you a single dime for that tip.

How much more could you save if you downloaded the whole book?

We Haven't Even Discussed Oil Yet

What about oil? If you can save that much with a simple filter change, what about a change in oil?

Well, let's get right to it:

Oil is the life blood of your engine, so it pays to know what's the best. Depending on your situation and your goals, that MAY or MAY NOT be a synthetic oil of some type. Fortunately, "The Motor Oil Bible" isn't just a big sales pitch for synthetic oils - although it WILL make the case for their superiority in certain situations.

The purpose of "The Motor Oil Bible" is to make sure that you understand motor oils and synthetic oils SO WELL that you will have ALL THE INFORMATION YOU NEED to wisely choose the right oil for your application. If it turns out that synthetic is a good option for you, then the benefit from reading this book is only enhanced.

Synthetic Oils & Extended Oil Drains

Countless other companies, organizations, books and technical papers have, for years, been studying and reporting on the viability of and benefits of extended oil drains and synthetic oils. So, don't discount my book in its entirity simply because you don't believe in extended drains or you think synthetics are just a marketing ploy.

First, as I've repeatedly said, there is FAR more information in the book than just a big pitch for synthetic oils and/or extended oil drains.

Secondly, I am, BY FAR, not the only one making these claims, and many of the companies and individuals that support the viability of extended drains are not going to receive any significant benefit from the implementation of extended drains.

The following are just a sampling of excerpts from the many technical papers and research studies that have been done which indicate that 3,000 mile oil changes haven't been necessary for MANY years. Listen to what others in the auto and lubricants industry were saying as much as a decade ago (oil and filters have improved even more since then):

The field trial results also document the performance of a premium fully synthetic engine oil at four times conventional oil drain intervals. Engine inspections conducted after 500,000 test miles confirm that the extension of oil drain intervals with premium diesel engine oils has no negative impact on engine durability.

1998 SAE Paper 982718 - "Extended Oil Drain Performance Capabilities of Diesel Engine Oils" by S.M. Letter, K.J. Kelly and M.A. Ragomo of Mobil Technology Company, R.C. Morrow of Mobil Oil Corporation and D.S. Nycz, G.M. Karl, D.F. Gullet, R.G. Dussault, B. Butler and T.H. Becker of Caterpillar, Inc.

Used oil analysis for test cars in the European Market demonstrated that engine oils can be already exhausted at 6,000 km (3700 miles) or could last up to 30,000 km (18,650 miles), depending upon the quality of the oil and use of the car.

1998 SAE Paper 981443 - "Extended Oil Drain Intervals - Conservation of Resources or Reduction of Engine Life (Part II)" by Karl Kollmann, Thomas Gurtler, and Klaus Land of Daimler Benz AG and Wolfgang Warkecke and hans Dieter Muller of Deutsche Shell AG

...engine oil servicing is still recommended in the range of 3,000 to 7,500 miles in the North American market. Extension of oil change interval recommendations beyond 15,000 miles is now being discussed within the international automotive industry. This paper documents the development and testing of new synthetic engine oil technology under extended service intervals of up to 25,000 miles or three years.

...In vehicle field tests under both high and low mileage accumulation rates, premium quality low viscosity synthetic engine oils provided excellent durability, engine wear protection and cleanliness under severe extended oil drain interval conditions.

1998 SAE Paper 981444 - "Advanced Synthetic Passenger Vehicle Engine Oils for Extended Oil Drain Performance" by R.J. Bergstra, W.A. Givens, W.L. Maxwell and W. H. Eichman of Mobil Technology Company.

Interested in more reading on the subject? Below is just a fraction of the available articles/studies focused on the effect of oil & filter quality/type on oil drain intervals. Did You Know?

Although many people will tell you how important it is to regularly change your oil and filters for proper protection of your vehicle, there are numerous other issues which are just as important and possibly even MORE important, that you should also consider.

For instance:

  • Were you aware that many oil filters are only efficient at removing particles larger than 40 microns, but one that efficiently filters particles just 10 microns smaller will reduce engine wear by 50%? - Now you are!
  • Do you know which filters can do that and which ones can't?
  • Were you aware there at least four oil manufacturers that recommend 10,000 to 35,000 mile drain intervals?
  • Did you know that extended drain oils have been available for nearly 30 years?
  • Some synthetics aren't really "synthetic" at all. Did you know that?
  • Were you aware that many synthetic blends are consumed nearly as easily as petroleum oil, even though you pay at least twice as much for them?
  • What are the 4 main characteristics of an oil that will most likely determine its performance in YOUR vehicle? Do you know? If not, how can you be sure the oil you're using is doing its job?
  • Did you know that extreme cold can be nearly as damaging to your oil as extreme heat?
  • Do you own a motorcycle? Are you paying through the nose for 1980's motor oil technology? Get the real scoop on motorcycle specific oils.
  • What's the scoop on these new 5w20 and 0w20 motor oils?

"The Motor Oil Bible" answers all of these questions and MANY more in a manner that is clear, concise and easy to read so you don't "lose" the big picture in the midst of the details.

So Why Trust What I Have To Say?

mikekkWell, that's certainly a fair question. I'd be asking the same thing if I were in your shoes. So, here's the scoop. I didn't originally go to school for lubrication and have no technical degree in this area. However, I have been consulting individuals and commercial businesses in the areas of automotive lubrication and filtration for going on 14 years and can easily say that I know more about oil than probably 99.5% of the population on this planet.

13 Years of Industry Experience, Research & Study

I've read every technical journal, every laboratory test result, every over-the-road test result, every technical specification, every oil analysis report, every book, every website and every company propaganda pamphlet I could get my hands on (that seemed worth reading). Much of it was worth reading and was well supported. Some, of course, was not so useful but was still well worth reading because it gives insight into the "mind" of the lube industry and lube and filter manufacturers in general.

I've also had some long discussions with numerous other lubrication specialists, seasoned mechanics and respected individuals in the lube, filter and auto industries. Those discussions have been invaluable. As every professional is well aware, networking with other respected members of one's industry can be a highly beneficial method of enhancing your knowledge of the subject matter.

However, even though all of that is important, experience also comes into play here. A lubrication "specialist" may have a great deal of book knowledge (which is important) but may not necessarily have a great deal of actual experience "in the field". That's not to say they would have none, but as with most industries, more experience is typically better.

Having direct experience with certain lubes and filters is always important. However, speaking with and actually listening to customers can provide a great deal more insight than you'll ever get from just your own experience. Selling oil offers me a tremendous opportunity to interact with thousands of people and draw on and compile data from all of their collective experiences. That helps me to know what works and what doesn't or sometimes just simply what works better.

Now, the fact that I sell oil may get your "propaganda sensors" in an uproar, but I've got to be up front about that. I do sell oil, and I sell a particular brand of oil that I am pretty partial to. I'm partial to it not only because standardized laboratory testing and technical specifications show it to be at the top of the heap, but also because years of consulting with a large base of customers has shown me that it consistently outperforms other products on the market.

Nevertheless, my book does not provide any direct connection to my "oil business" to get you to buy. You're not going to find any "buy now" links in here. In fact, probably 99% of the book doesn't even mention the name of the oil that I sell, and not once will I actually come out and tell you what I sell (although I'm sure you'll probably figure it out).

There are sections of the book that discuss how you might choose an oil that will fit your needs. In those sections, you will find that under many circumstances I believe this oil to be the best choice available, and I will say so.

However, there are also certain instances when other products may fit the bill better. I'm not afraid to say that. I'm not afraid to recommend a competitor oil or filter if I think they may have something my customer needs that I don't have or can't sell them.

I know a great deal about oil because I have to. It's my job. My customers require it. I couldn't sell the oil that I sell without knowing exactly what I'm talking about and being able to fully explain why a customer will benefit from using our product (because they won't be able to simply go down to Wal-Mart and pick it up for 99 cents/bottle).

Now, I'm passing that knowledge along to you. What you decide to do with it is your business. And, if you still don't feel that I have anything important to tell you about oil, please DO NOT download the book. In any case, you can't say I tried to pull the wool over your eyes.

What Do Others Think?

Of course, I could easily talk till I'm blue in the face about why you need "The Motor Oil Bible". But, I think those who've actually read it can tell the story much better than I could. You'll find below copies of actual customer feedback messages that were sent to me by people who've read "The Motor Oil Bible" cover to cover.

Michael,

Wow! When I first got a copy of your book "The Motor Oil Bible" I thought to myself how boring is this going to be....a book about motor oil. I have to admit not only did I read it cover to cover but you taught me many new things I have not heard of before in my 20+ years in the auto repair industry. My grandfather opened a large 35 bay auto repair and collision shop back in 1937 in Houston, Texas.

Auto repair and all things related have been in my blood all my life. I thought I had seen and heard just about every gimmick and "scam" there is in our industry, and I have always recommended the standard 3,000 mile oil change to my customers basically because that is what was taught to me and what the "quick lube" industry has brainwashed the American public to believe in.

I also wrote my own book years ago to expose many of the myths, scams and truths related to my industry, and I currently own and operate 2 large auto repair related websites that receive over 8,000 visitors a day each. I am amazed at how many email questions and horror stories I receive on a daily basis related to the mistrust and disinformation about the repair industry. I applaud your time and wisdom you have put into your book to help educate the public.

Not only have you done a great job at convincing me to rethink my old habits but have also opened my eyes to the reasons behind extended oil change period and the use of better oils and synthetic oils. Even I, an "auto repair professional," tend to buy engine oil based on brand name and price more than on quality and performance characteristics, mainly because I never really understood what the viscosity numbers and oil types really meant. After reading your book I now have a much better understanding as to what engine oil does, how it is made, what the different types of oil are, and how synthetic oil and conventional oils differ.

I am pretty much a "just give me the facts" type of guy, and your book was very easy to understand and navigate. I found myself going back to a few chapters later on and re-reading them to make sure I fully understood your examples of how they process engine oil and what the viscosity numbers we see printed on the side of the oil bottle really mean. I hate to admit it, but what I had been told and what I was telling my customers about what those numbers (i.e., 10W-40) really mean was not entirely correct. Thanks for educating me.

I recommend this book to anyone who drives a car and who participates in the oil change process, by either changing the oil yourself or paying a mechanic to do it for you. You should read this ebook.

Michael,

For years I have been in the dark about motor oils. Not knowing what the truth was or how to interpret oil test results. After reading the Motor Oil Bible I consider myself an expert on the subject and I am quite often the center of conversation on the subject.

I was able to make an educated decision on the oils to use in my cars and I feel quite confident I have chosen the best.

Thanks, Michael, for this fabulous material.

The Motor Oil Bible was extremely informative, answering the questions I had about how long a car can REALLY go between oil changes, not just what the owners manual says. I changed the oil in my PT Cruiser to a brand of synthetic oil guaranteed to last 1 year or 25,000 miles, and installed a high-quality oil filter.

I immediately noticed increases in gas mileage and power. Now, when I accelerate quickly, I no longer hear the engine struggling. Instead, it sounds smooth. I am only afraid my brakes may not last as long, because my car coasts so well now! I can hardly wait to see the difference when I get my new air filter!

I hope to drive my PT Cruiser for 3 or 4 hundred thousand miles.

Outstanding analysis of the functions and relative qualities of motor oil, oil filters, and air filters. This ebook was the basis for my decision to pursue extended-drain motor oil use and premium filtration products. It was a real eye-opener how people are settling for less, handing over their hard-earned cash for inferior protection of what is, for some, their largest investment.

Time will tell if the extended drain, superior filtration program makes my cars (a Chevrolet and a Volvo) last longer...in the mean time I am happy to be doing my part to minimize the hazardous waste problem we are all facing. I have switched to long-life engine coolant as well, and I think OAT (organic acid technology) should be mandatory to reduce our consumption and disposal of ethylene glycol too.

I have especially appreciated the empirical nature of the "Motor Oil Bible" e-book - I didn't feel like Mr. Kaufman made bogus claims to support his thesis...it's hard to argue with the numbers. The problem I think is that most people just don't care enough about machinery to do a little research on the benefits of long-life synthetics, and the oil companies/quick-lube companies should be ashamed for pushing us to keep using a marginal product and buy more and more of it just because it's cheaper in the very short run.

We have the technology we need to improve our environment and make our cars last longer...thanks Mike, for getting the word out. You will always be fighting a battle as long as the auto industry has incentive for our cars to die early. I thought I was the only one who has been thinking about this!

Matthew Smith - Ledyard, CT

I was amazed at how little I actually knew about the "life blood" of my engines! You are providing a great service to all who are lucky enough to find your website. The price you ask is little to pay for the wealth of information you provide. I hope you continue to "flesh out" your most useful work and perhaps provide an updated comparison appendix as you receive more information. I am very pleased!

Mike, I was really impressed with the info. in your book!! I am a very meticulous person who loves to learn and know the facts about things, I have done all types of mechanical things my entire life, and would recommend your book to anyone.

Hi Mike,

Your "Motor Oil Bible" was great!! I downloaded it and feel it was one of the best buys I ever made. Following the information you provided I changed to ****** Synthetic's on all my vehicle's and boat (351 Ford inboard/outboard).

The conversion in my 454 Chevy Work Horse Fleetwood (Pace Arrow Vision-36 FT.) motor home alone has increased my gas mileage by almost 10% and believe me this is a real benefit. This alone, in a very short time will pay for the "Motor Oil Bible" and the initial expense for all the oil changes. Thanks again for this "must know" information.

William Jesse Mayfield, Sr.
A very satisfied customer!!!

This book is a "must have" for any individual, company, or automotive - truck service provider. The factual and technical data is easy for the layman to understand, and the information is up-to-date.

This work will bring the reader out of the 19th century of refined petroleum lubricants and into the 21st century of engineered lubricants. Don't leave home without it!

I found the ... book very informative. In fact, I couldn't "put it down" until I had finished even though it was well past my ideal bedtime.

This book contains information that every vehicle owner should know.

I found the motor oil bible to be most informative and instructional. I highly recommend it's purchase.

Mike,

This web site and the purchase I made were exactly what I had been looking for. Most mechanics and articles I had read were very non-committal on the benefits of synthetic motor oils. In fact, their statements seemed to suggest that they knew very little about the topic. The Motor Oil Bible provided me with all of the detailed information I had been seeking.

Thanks!

After seeing all the confusion over oil changes and synthetics on web forums, I've saved the link to the ebook site so that all can learn. Great product; highly recommended reading.

Good Morning Mike,

I gave you another very happy customer last night. I just happened to be surfing Ebay last night, and ran across a guy who was selling his 1999 Mustang Cobra. In his sales ad he stated how he only used Motorcraft oil and filters. So I told him to check out your oil bible.

He wrote back about an hour or so later, and the first word he said to me was WOW! He said everyone should have a copy... I just wanted you to know that I truly love your oil bible and am very happy with it, and will continue to pass it along in anyway I can. Thank You once again for ... caring about your customers.

D. M. - CT

I would recommend the book to any person interested in car care and saving money. Well written. Well worth the price.

I love the Motor Oil Bible ebook and it's contents.

Mike has done a fantastic job with it's contents and I have shared the link with many other coworkers.

A+++! Great job!

Mike,

Your work deserves some gratitude from all of us out there in virtual world.

It's well written without being too heavy but yet most technical details are there.

Keep up your good work.

Tony - Singapore

I have had the Motor Oil Bible for quite a while. It is a very informative resource and takes the hype and mystery out of selecting quality oils and filters. I have a Toyota with 275,000 trouble free miles thanks to the guidance of the Motor Oil Bible!

Great book! All the typical questions answered, and more. I have had my eyes opened to many angles about oil I never suspected mattered. Many myths have been shattered by means of clear, straightforward explanations, and also by personal replies to written inquiries.

Thanks, Michael.

Rolando Lequeux - Boca Raton, Florida.

The Motor oil bible had all those hard to find facts in the one place... so rather than referring people to multiple places you can now use just the one reference.

It's hard to find someone who takes oils seriously, knows enough about oils to give you good advice and to offer unbiased advice. The Motor Oil Bible and Evaluator are good tools for getting both generic and specific info about oils.

Thank you Mike for your reply. I am not too sharp on computer and I found your MOB in my junk file. Once I approved it and moved it it was fine. I am also very interested in oil and you have answered so many questions for me.

I am using ****** already, and now I know why it doesn't need as much additives. (for one thing) Thank you again, and put me in your very satisfied customer category. I am only part way through the reading and I am keeping notes on some of it. This is one of the best things I have purchased for myself.

Myron

I originally purchased Mikes e-book many years ago. I had wanted information on engine oil, but I couldn't find much on the internet.

I stumbled onto the Oil Bible and initially hesitated. I thought that it may just be another internet ploy. I mean, who hasn't be caught up in one yet. Anyway...after much thought, I went ahead and purchased it. WOW...what a wealth of information! After reading the book I actually felt smart, and I prided myself as a oil guru now.

The best thing about this book is that it opened my eyes to extended oil change intervals. I read with GREAT skepticism! I mean, going over 3k on a oil change is just crazy...right?!

I took a leap of faith and tried it, and I can tell you honestly, that I will NEVER go back to 3k oil changes. Just another big rip off from the oil companies.

I've had 3 trucks since reading Mikes book and have practiced extended oil changes. None of them EVER had any problems related to the engine. That alone was worth the purchase of the book and that doesn't even count the many hours saved doing the oil changes!

Buy the book, soak it in and walk away an oil guru!

Get Two Books for the Price of One

You're going to get two for the price of one because in addition to "The Motor Oil Bible", I'm also going to provide you with the "second best" lubrication and filtration book available anywhere. It was actually written by a friend of mine who works in the industry and has even more experience than me - and he's agreed to allow me to give copies of his book to my customers.

I say "second best" just to get under his skin. Honestly, it really is a tremendous resource - he's put together some terrific information. Obviously, I like to think mine is better, but, it doesn't really matter. You're going to get both for the same low price.

Of course, there is a little overlap in terms of the content between the two books, but, there is also plenty of information that he's covered in his book that I chose not to, and vice versa. So, between the two books, you'll have pretty much everything you're ever going to need to know about oil, all in two very convenient references.

"How Cars Work" Video Software

As a shameless ploy to convince you to purchase the book, I'd like to offer you an added extra that I've recently created and will give to you for free with your purchase of "The Motor Oil Bible" ebook. It's called "How Cars Work", and it is, quite simply, a compilation of videos related to the inner workings of the various systems present in most vehicles.

But, rather than waste my time trying to explain to you what this software is/does, I may as well show you with a video screenshot:

Only 2.1% Of My Customers Request a Refund!

I have been selling "The Motor Oil Bible" online for a number of years, and, of all of my previous thousands of customers, only 2.1% of them have ever requested a refund for their purchase. Of course, that means that 98% of the people that purchase my book not only keep it, but felt that it was money well spent. The truth is, ANY of those customers could have bypassed me entirely and contacted my order processor directly for a refund. In nearly EVERY case, they lean in the customer's favor. If a refund is requested, a refund is received.

But, that's not even the best part. The statistics above refer to sales of the PREVIOUS version of the book, which was much shorter, not as well organized, had less content and wasn't as easy to navigate and find what you were looking for. The new revision of the book is a considerable improvement over the previous version. So, if 98% of my customers were pleased with the previous version, how much more will YOU be pleased with this latest edition?

ALOT. I guarantee it.

What Payment Options Are Available?

Although your payment will be processed by PayPal, you DO NOT need to have a PayPal account to place an order. You can pay via virtually any credit card, debit card or bank account. It is a completely secure payment process with NONE of your personal financial information ever passing through an insecure connection. PayPal has been doing payment processing for years and has a reputation for safeguarding customers' information.

Who is Receiving the Payment?

When you make your actual payment via PayPal, your payment will be made either to me (the author) or the affiliate who directed you to my site (if you were directed here through an affiliate link, your affiliate referrer's name is: ).

My affiliates are paid 100% for every 4th sale they make, so, if you happen to be that 4th sale, you'll be making your payment directly to them, and the PayPal payment page will make that clear. But, don't worry about the fact that you may be paying someone other than me for the book (SERIOUSLY). First of all, whether your payment is made to me or one of my affiliates, you'll still go through the same process and be returned to my site for your product (just be sure to click the "Return to Merchant" button/link following your payment).

More importantly, though ...

So, HOW MUCH for All This Information?

In the past, I've sold the previous editions of "The Motor Oil Bible" for as much as $30, and customers that read the book were thoroughly impressed with the content and happy with the price. With the exception of periodic sales and a recent special deal that was offering a steap discount to those who "pre-ordered" the new book, I routinely sold the book for $19.97.

However, with the recent revisions, updates and significant expansion to the content and formatting of the book, it is more valuable than ever. Add in the extra "How Cars Work" video software and the "Second Best" Lube/Filter manual bonus and you've got an incredibly valuable package.

Purchased today, through this site, you will pay just $17 for the electronic PDF download version of the book.

Let me reiterate that.

This is an Electronic PDF Download

You will need Adobe PDF Reader or some other PDF reader in order to open this file on your computer. Whatever your issue, you will receive a refund for your entire order (whether the payment was made to me or to one of my affiliates is irrelevant - that's my iron clad promise to you).

In all the years that I've been selling various revisions of this book, I've sold THOUSANDS of copies with only a small handful of refund requests, so I'm pretty confident you won't have to make use of this option. However, it's nice to know it's available if you do.

What's more, if you were to have trouble getting the refund issued by me or my affiliate (which you won't), PayPal (my payment processor) will also issue a refund to any customer of mine (in order to maintain THEIR reputation). So, you're covered on both ends. Don't worry - Be happy.

P.S.S. - "The Motor Oil Bible" ebook is endorsed and recommended by David Mann, a major Detroit OEM Automotive Engineer and Lubrication Specialist with 17+ years of field experience. Here's what he had to say after reading my book (he has received absolutely no compensation for his endorsement):

"The Motor Oil Bible" is by far the most comprehensive, must-read lube and filter information ever integrated into a simple, easy to read format for the average motorist. But, in no way am I saying this information is only for beginners. Competent mechanics and engineers will benefit as well.

As a Lubrication Specialist and Automotive Engineer with 17 years experience in the auto and lubrication industries (14 of them with a major automotive manufacturer), I believe "The Motor Oil Bible" is an absolute essential for every vehicle owner. You simply won't find a more complete yet easy to understand resource for learning all you need to know about lubrication and filtration.

David Mann

I guarantee you will be pleased with your purchase of "The Motor Oil Bible". Thousands of individuals have purchased "The Motor Oil Bible" over the past 6 or 7 years, and only a VERY small handful have requested a refund. In fact, over the past 12 months (that's as far back as I can look in my ClickBank sales stats):

My Refund Rate is Just 2.1 Percent! That means that 98% of my customers have been pleased with their purchase, which is precisely why I know you will be as well.

BTW - EVERY CUSTOMER that has ever requested a refund from me has receive it - in full. If you don't like my book, I don't want your money.
